Any attempts to clean declared Superfund sites in Louisiana should be
welcomed by Sen. Breaux. Many of these sites are in or near Black
communities. These communities have been very loyal to Sen. Breaux over the
years. It concerns me that Sen. Breaux may not see this as an
opportunity to eliminate toxins and health risks in the state. Though naive in
this political climate, the interest of the voting public should
occasionally transcend corporate interests. I hope a democratic senator can
recognize this simple fact.
